About Me

Hello everyone! I am Heidi Moser and I am a freshman here at Hardin Simmons University. I traveled all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada to attend school here in Abilene, Texas. Many of you might be wondering why I chose this small town over Las Vegas. I am here because Coach Bart Craig called me and told me about the amazing opportunities that this town has to offer. I couldn't pass up his this opportunity so I decided to pack my bags and come play golf for him at HSU. I had to leave a lot back home to be able to come here but so far I think that it was worth it. Back home I lived with my parents and my little brother. My brother is 15 years old, and is currently a freshman in high school. Most of my family is from a small town in Nebraska called Grand Island, however i have one pair of grandparents that live in Las Vegas with us. We have two puppy Yorkie Terriers named Bogey and Ace (these are golf terms that are complete opposites just like their personalities). It has been very hard leaving my family and my pets, but I have met friends in Abilene that are just like me family. In Las Vegas I love to spend time with my family on the golf course. After a long week of school the golf course is the best place to go and relax. I have chosen to major in Exercise Science with a goal of becoming a Physical Therapist. I have always had a passion of working with children with special needs. One child in particular helped me realize this, his name is Ethan. I met Ethan through my church where I love to spend my free time volunteering with the little kids. I believe that Ethan was put into my life to help me just as much has I can help him.

  1. You are a great blogger Haidi! Beautiful family by the way. Your passion and goals for future being driven by a personal experience and knowing your strengths is commendable. Coming to a school miles away from "home" is not easy, I know (been there myself), but I am sure this pursuit will be all worth it. Glad to have you here!

  2. I can't imagine the cultural change of coming from Las Vegas to the much smaller town of Abilene. However, what an amazing opportunity to play golf here! HSU is basically like a family. There are great people here and you definitely chose a great school! Best of luck to you.

  3. I love the names of your dogs! I play a lot of Disc Golf, so I see a lot of Bogies and Aces! What is Las Vegas like, compared to Abilene?

    1. Las Vegas is more of a desert area landscape wise. People from Abilene think that this is the desert, however I think that there are so many trees here! Also everyone is really nice here the people in Vegas can be very rude and closed off. So far I love Texas!
