About My Interest in Psychology

One branch of psychology that I find very interesting is sports psychology.  I am interested in this field of study because as an athlete I have worked with a sports psychologist before.  The requirements for this degree is the path that consists of going to a university and receiving a Bachelors degree, then after going to graduate school and earning your Doctorate degree, then you must complete an internship, and finally get licensed.  Sports psychology is related to sports and it helps athletes improve performance through visualization, and managing performance anxiety.  Golf is a very mental sport and requires a lot of attention.  While on the course I got very nervous playing in front of people so I sought help from a sports psychologist.  I found that this helped me a lot mentally as well with my anxiety on the course.  I believe that this feel can be good for me because I can relate to what others on feeling either on the course or field. About Me

Hello everyone! I am Heidi Moser and I am a freshman here at Hardin Simmons University. I traveled all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada to attend school here in Abilene, Texas. Many of you might be wondering why I chose this small town over Las Vegas. I am here because Coach Bart Craig called me and told me about the amazing opportunities that this town has to offer. I couldn't pass up his this opportunity so I decided to pack my bags and come play golf for him at HSU. I had to leave a lot back home to be able to come here but so far I think that it was worth it. Back home I lived with my parents and my little brother. My brother is 15 years old, and is currently a freshman in high school. Most of my family is from a small town in Nebraska called Grand Island, however i have one pair of grandparents that live in Las Vegas with us.
